Here's The Original "Ghostbusters" Concept Art, From Stay Puft To Slimer

Please enjoy these early renderings of the creepiest ghosts to ever ghost.

Any true Ghostbusters fan is familiar with all of the ghosts and frightful beings in the movies.

But in the new book Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History (Insight Editions), we get to see many early drawings and renderings of the iconic monsters like Slimer and Stay Puft that we know today.

These designs for the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man by Thom Enriquez experiment with differing approaches to height, mass, and shape.

Here are some of his concepts created for the Onionhead ghost. The two designs at the bottom of the right-hand page were ultimately approved and sent to Boss Films for sculpting.

These Terror Dog concepts, also by Thom Enriquez, were eventually handed over to Boss Films' Randy Cook, who would amalgamate them into a final design and sculpt the initial Terror Dog maquette.

And just because we love him so, here's a Slimer character concept for Ghostbusters II.
