Dumb Interviewer Calls Christina Hendricks "Full-Figured" To Her Face
During an interview with the Australian Sun-Herald, Christina Hendricks refused to answer a question about being an “inspiration to full-figured women.” Off camera, Christina replied, “I think calling me full-figured is just rude.”

A one-piece swimsuit isn’t typical for someone her age. I work with a number of “full-figured” women, and I have heard them have a conversation about how much they appreciate her being on TV at her size (and how beautiful she is). No one likes being told they are larger than average, obviously, but it was an interesting way to take what was meant as a compliment. Of course she’s still beautiful. All people here that are going on a defensive rampage are the ones implying that you can’t be overweight AND attractive.

Wow, could this woman be any more insecure with herself?? Take a look in the mirror, you ARE full figured! Since when is full figured a bad thing? I would take that as a compliment. Did you see her beside the woman interviewing? She is clearly much more “full” and has much more of a “figure”. Talk about being a terrible role model. Snap back to reality and be proud of your curves!!

etoilefrancaise 7 months agoyou can hear one of her people point out that they had stipulated that no body questions were to be asked in the interview. I think she is mostly upset with the woman’s lack of professionalism.

I don’t think she was angry just because she was asked about her bangin’ body. I’m sure she was pissed off because “full-figured” is a nasty synonym for “fat”. That’s why she was angry when the interviewer repeated the term a second time. If the question were “Your character, Joan, is famous for her gorgeous figure, and yet, it’s a different ideal from the very thin look that dominates today’s fashion pages. Have you heard from any of your fans that they are happy to see a new kind of beauty on-screen?” she would probably happily answer it.

locoono 7 months agoI really don’t think Hendricks was offended by being called ‘full-figured.’ Pretty sure she was just tired of being asked about her body instead of her work. I really don’t see anything wrong with her reaction. She has a right to want to focus on her work and not be made a poster-girl.

how about we all stfu about her physical attributes. she is an actress she is beautiful, and is great at acting, but if there was a size requirement that might be important. but it’s not. should the interviewer be asked, “for a journalist with seriously annoying voice, you sure are inspiring to annoying twats all over the world who might luck into a journalism job where they might actually get to ask a question of a famous person and fuck it up royally.” derp

devinm4 7 months agoBeing called “full-figured” might not be offensive (the interviewer was clearly talking about her curves in a positive light), but methinks Christina might’ve not liked being goaded to portray herself as the poster-girl for “fat acceptance.” “Fat people must LOVE you! Tell us the coolest thing a fat person has told you.”

sharkfighter 7 months agoFAIL for Christina, because she is full figured. She shouldn’t shy away from that term. I’m a size 10 and while shopping a sales person recommended pants for curvy women to me. I was shocked at first, but then realized yeah, I’m curvy. Why should I be hurt or shocked. I was wrong for my initial reaction and thanked her for the recommendation.

rhysingashes 7 months agoShe has huge boobs and big wide hips. She is full figured, her waist isn’t tiny, she would be an hourglass if it was. She’s not fat but she’s bigger, any size over a 10 is considered big and with her hips, no way she fits into anything smaller
