"People are raising their kids to be more and more knowledgeable and understanding," he told GQ.

Chance the Rapper is already having a great 2017 and we're barely two weeks into January.

One thing that's not on Chance's list for 2017, however, is being fearful of the upcoming Trump administration. In his interview with the magazine, he explains why he thinks we shouldn't be either.

Chance also had a few choice words for Trump supporters who want to "make America great again."

"You gotta just understand, like, shit has been fucked-up, right? Like, 'Make America Great Again,' that’s not a real thing because shit ain’t really switched up for them," Chance explained. "It’s not really going that bad for you. If you feel like you’re the under-represented, under-appreciated side of Middle America that is white — quote me — you need to, uh, toughen up, nigga! Somebody gotta punch you in the chest, because shit is sweet for you."

It's far from the first time the Chicago native has spoken out about politics. He held a voting registration drive and did a march to the polls during the 2016 election. He's also been a vocal supporter of President Obama throughout his tenure, including this past weekend after attending his farewell party at the White House.
