Once a year in January, the night awakens as thousands flock to one of Canada's oldest and most romantic cities for a crazy, electronic, outdoor music festival. Igloofest is held at the Old Port of Montreal, just on the Saint Lawrence River. The festival lasts for nearly a month and is a great way to enjoy a balance of old and new unlike anything else.

If you're planning on visiting Ottawa, make sure you do it during the Winterlude festival (taking place during the first three weekends of February). Winterlude is a cultural celebration established in 1979 where you can enjoy ice skating at the world's largest ice skating rink and frolicking at an outdoor snow playground.
