This Woman's Name Is Constantly Spelled Wrong At Starbucks And It's Hilarious

No, her name isn't "shame."

This is Siân David, a 33-year-old newspaper and magazine designer currently living in Bristol, England.

David told BuzzFeed News that she is originally from South Wales, and her first name is Welsh.

But, she said, people have had trouble spelling her name her whole life.

"I've had people spell and say it incorrectly in both countries, even though it's not a very unusual name," she said.

Her name, pronounced "Sh-ah-n," is the Welsh equivalent of "Jane."

After moving to England nearly two years ago, David said she started frequenting different Starbucks locations near her office. But the baristas had some trouble spelling her name.

It kept happening, so David decided to start documenting the fails on her Facebook page. One of the worst misspellings she got kind of looks like "shame," right?

These guys were kind, of close? Maybe?

Some just kind of gave up.

At least they were nice about it?

David said she started sharing the photos because she thought her friends would get a kick out of it, and it doesn't bother her at all.

"Life's too short to get angry about things like this," she said. "It's funny, and the world needs more laughter."

David also has heard that Starbucks workers spell names wrong intentionally for publicity on Twitter, but she said she doesn't care if that's the case with her.

"I think that's a kind of cynical way of looking at it," she said. "I get a kick out of it, and if other people do too, that makes me happy."

David's hilarious Starbucks cups began to spread across the web after a friend did a story for the Bristol Post.

And with all the fails, it makes it even better when some of the baristas get her name right.
