4-Year-Old Girl Suffers Skin Injuries After Getting Glued To A McDonald's Toilet

Police in the U.K. saw they are "treating this matter as an assault."

Police in the U.K. say they have identified two teenagers they believe glued a 4-year-old girl to a McDonald's toilet seat as part of a prank on New Year's Eve.

Nicole Langmead, 24, told SWNS TV that she took her daughter Kaya to the fast food restaurant for lunch.

While they were eating, Kaya explained that her mom let her use the restroom alone "like a big girl."

The child told SWNS that she had to wait a while to use the toilet because two girls who were inside took a while. They finally emerged, and she went in.

But when Kaya came back out, she told her mom something had been on the toilet. When her mom checked her out, she noticed her daughter's legs and bottom "were really sore."

"There was superglue on the toilet seat and it hurt my hands and my bum," the girl told SWNS.

Police spokesman Steve Grant told BuzzFeed News that investigators found that Kaya "suffered visible injuries to her legs as a result of the criminal damage."

Some of the tears in the skin she endured reportedly healed over the weekend.

Langmead immediately alerted the employees at McDonald's, who called the Devon and Cornwall Police.

Police say that they have identified the girls who they were seeking in connection with the case, and are not searching for other suspects.

But, a spokeswoman for the department told BuzzFeed News they would not be releasing the names of the girls to the media.

"We are aware there is social media attention relating to the incident and understand that the public are concerned, however we have a duty to protect everyone involved and will take positive action against threats or abuse," Sarah Rolinson said. "We are in contact with the victim's mother and will keep her updated on our progress."

A McDonald's spokesman told the BBC that they are cooperating with the investigation.

"As soon as our restaurant team was made aware of this incident, they team acted swiftly to offer medical help and contact the police," the spokesman said.
