Bushmaster’s Shockingly Awful "Man Card" Campaign
The company that produces the semiautomatic rifle used in the Newtown, CT, shootings is currently running an online campaign based around virtual cards that “prove” the bearer’s manliness. One specifically talks about how unmanly it is to be afraid of elementary-school kids.

2. The landing page shows you various cards that have been “revoked.” Like this one for Colin F., who is apparently just unmanly.
3. You can get your very own man card, if you are manly enough.
4. There’s a difficult test ahead. Will you pass?

6. Wouldn’t want to get this one wrong, bro.

8. Now comes the social media!
9. You can also “revoke” someone’s man card.
10. You do this by filling out a form and sending the revocation notice to them. You can choose several different reasons.
One of which is that your friend is afraid of 5th graders.

Jake N. 4 months agoThe NRA has just suggested that the solution, instead of some restrictions on firearms is to put armed guards at every school.
Just a statistic: There’s 100,000 public K-12 schools, 67,000 of those are elementary. There’s another 35,000 post-secondary schools. How much is it going to cost to secure those schools? Or if its volunteers, how many gun enthusiasts are willing to give up their day jobs in order to volunteer? It’s not exactly like schools are flush with cash as it is. So.. let’s do some basic math. There are 135,000 schools to protect. Assuming we assign just 1 armed guard to each school (of course, some are so large they’ll need more than one) at a salary equal to the average salary of a TSA airport screener, which is $31,897.50 per year (think about that for a second), the annual cost of the NRA’s plan is:
$4,306,162,500.00 Yes kids.. that’s 4.3 billion dollars a year! And that is just salary; it doesn’t even take into account actually buying their guns, ammo, training, benefits, etc. When taking all this into account, actual cost projects closer to 6 billion A YEAR. Let’s see how “fiscal conservatives” suggest we pay for this with no tax increases or without blowing up the federal debt by each year. I know.. how about we take the annual cost of protecting our schools from gunmen and split it among everyone who owns a gun, prorated of course by the number of guns each person owns. Think of it as a “user fee”. -

Rwanda was in the middle of a civil war. Now imagine if they actually had guns, instead of 5 million dead, we would be talking about 15 or 20 million dead.
These kids in Newtown did not live in a war zone. They were going to elementary school on a Friday two weeks before Christmas in the most powerful, stable and prosperous country the world has ever seen. Laws cannot prevent every crime, but if Adam Lanza did not have access to a semi automatic weapon and large capacity magazines, it would have taken him longer to fire and reload and would have given people more time to run and/or hide, more of a chance to tackle him down, more time for the police to arrive. Yes, there would still be victims but the death toll would have been significantly lower.

‘ManCard’ my azz. I would like this hellish company that has gotten rich off the manufacturing and sales of an infernal deathdealing device that has no other reason to exist except to kill a living thing in a painful and torturous manner, to look a parent of one of those 6 year old children whose tender small body was ripped to shreds by multiple rounds fired from one of their products in the eye and tell them about earning a ‘Man Card’. This crap just makes me wanna puke. They have blood on their hands, the lot of these pathetic pencildicked gun-nut ‘MEN’.

A simple google search tells me that this advertising campaign started at least a year and a month ago. While I’m far from a gun nut (never owned a gun in the 29 years I’ve been alive) this article is clearly a pathetic, thinly veiled attack at anything YOU don’t like. Your selective research makes you no better than those you hate on. Try again
