I'm more sympathetic. I graduated with 23K in student loan debt in 1998. Four recessions later that had ballooned into 43K. I've paid it down to 35K. Having dealt with the student loan machine, I worry about being laid off and loosing what little ground I've gained. So I guess that makes me a tad more understanding.
