Premiere: Hear The Furious Collaboration Between Run The Jewels And Rage Against The Machine's Zack De La Rocha

The rap-metal hero returns to spar with hip-hop's angriest revivalists. Listen to "Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)" now on BuzzFeed.

Run The Jewels, the hard-hitting duo of Killer Mike and El-P, pulls exactly zero punches on "Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)," a new single from their forthcoming album RTJ2 that boasts a rare cameo from Zack De La Rocha of Rage Against The Machine.

La Rocha has recorded music only sporadically since Rage's last album over 14 years ago, including a one-off EP with The Mars Volta's Jon Theodore back in 2008. But he's a natural complement to the duo's vintage, back-and-forth lyrical bomb throwing.

The track, built over a tightly wound loop of De La Rocha's voice, cuts wide like a sawed-off shotgun, targeting politicians, prisons, preachers and everything in between. Asked by BuzzFeed News via email what message he hoped the song would deliver, El-P had this to say: "We will burn this motherfucker down if shit don't change."

"Close Your Eyes" actually isn't the first time El-P and De La Rocha have collaborated.

RTJ2 is in stores October 27 from Mass Appeal Records. Pre-order the album here, and keep an eye out for "Meow The Jewels" an all-cat-sounds remix LP with guest producers like Zola Jesus and Just Blaze (yes, really) that's currently rising on Kickstarter.
