17 Futuristic Twists On Vintage Cocktails

1. Sparkling Grapefruit Planter's Punch

You'll need:

⅔ oz fresh lemon juice

1 ⅙ oz fresh orange juice

1 ⅙ fresh pineapple juice

⅓ oz grenadine syrup

⅓ oz simple syrup

1 ½ oz dark rum

2 oz Perrier® Grapefruit Sparkling Natural Mineral Water

3 or 4 dashes Angostura bitters

1 slice pineapple

1 cocktail cherry

Steps:

Fill shaker with ice and add all ingredients except bitters. Shake then strain into highball glass filled with ice. Add Angostura bitters on top and garnish with pineapple and cherry.

2. Pickle Juice Bloody Mary

You'll need:

1 splash Worcestershire sauce

1 splash Tabasco

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 oz pickle juice

1 ½ oz vodka

3 oz tomato juice

½ oz lemon juice

1 pickle/celery stalk/olive, for garnish

Steps:

Add Worcestershire Sauce, Tabasco, and salt and pepper into highball glass. Fill the glass with ice cubes then add pickle juice, vodka, tomato juice, and lemon juice. Stir gently and choose from a variety of classic garnishes (pickle, celery, olive, etc.).

3. Lavender Martini

You'll need:

½ oz dry vermouth

3 oz gin

½ oz lavender simple syrup*

1 sprig lavender, for garnish

Steps:

Pour vermouth, gin, and lavender simple syrup into cocktail mixer. Shake well and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with sprig of lavender.

*Create lavender simple syrup by boiling ½ cup water and ½ cup sugar then steeping one sprig of lavender in mixture for 2 hours.

4. Rosewater Pink Lady

You'll need:

¾ rose syrup

1 oz gin

1 egg white

4 splashes grenadine syrup

1 Maraschino cherry, for garnish

Steps:

Shake rose syrup, gin, egg white, and grenadine with ice and strain into cocktail glass. Cherry garnish optional.

5. Sparkling Apple Cider Sangria

You’ll need:

3 ½ cups chopped apple

1 large orange, quartered

1 ½ cups rum

½ cup white sugar

1 bottle dry red wine

1 cup apple cider

1 cup Perrier® Green Apple Natural Sparkling Mineral Water

Steps:

Combine fruit, rum, and sugar in large pitcher. Chill for at least two hours. When ready to serve, crush fruit lightly then stir in wine, apple cider, and Perrier® Green Apple Natural Sparkling Mineral Water.

6. Maple Bacon Manhattan

You'll need:

2 oz rye or Canadian whiskey

¾ oz sweet red vermouth

1 dash Angostura bitters

⅓ oz maple syrup

1 strip bacon, for garnish

Steps:

Stir whiskey, vermouth, bitters, and maple syrup over ice, then strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with strip of bacon.

7. Basil Gimlet

You'll need:

1 bunch basil leaves

½ oz sweetened lime juice

1 ½ oz gin

Steps:

Muddle basil leaves in cocktail shaker. Add sweetened lime juice and gin. Fill with ice, shake, and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with basil leaf.

8. Rosemary Greyhound

You'll need:

1 grapefruit slice

½ oz rosemary simple syrup*

6 oz Perrier® Grapefruit Sparkling Natural Mineral Water

1 ½ oz vodka

1 sprig rosemary, for garnish

Steps:

Muddle grapefruit slice and rosemary simple syrup in an old-fashioned glass. Add Perrier® Grapefruit Sparkling Natural Mineral Water and vodka then top with ice. Stir well and garnish with sprig of rosemary.

*Create rosemary simple syrup by boiling ½ cup water and ½ cup sugar then steeping one sprig of rosemary in mixture for 2 hours.

9. Moscow Mule With Lime Ice Cubes

You'll need:

3 limes

2 oz Perrier® Lime Sparkling Natural Mineral Water

1 ½ oz vodka

4 oz ginger beer

Steps:

ICE CUBES: The night before, cut up the limes into wedges and place in each hole of an ice cube tray, adding water to top it off.

COCKTAIL: Combine Perrier® Lime Sparkling Natural Mineral Water, vodka, and ginger beer in a copper mug then fill glass with the lime ice cubes.

10. Blood Orange Whiskey Sour

You'll need:

1 oz blood orange juice

1 oz fresh lemon juice

½ oz simple syrup

1 egg white

1 ½ oz bourbon whiskey

1 Maraschino cherry, for garnish

1 slice blood orange, for garnish

Steps:

Shake blood orange juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, egg white, and whiskey with ice. Strain into chilled old-fashioned glass and garnish with cherry and blood orange slice (when in season).

11. Grasshopper Milkshake

You'll need:

1 oz crème de menthe

1 oz crème de cacao

1 scoop vanilla ice cream

1 sprig mint leaves, for garnish

Steps: Blend ingredients in processor and serve in chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with mint leaves.

12. Coffee Brandy Alexander

You'll need:

1 oz fresh cream

1 oz cognac

1 oz crème de cacao

1 oz iced coffee

Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

Steps:

Add cream, cognac, crème de cacao, and iced coffee in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into chilled cocktail glass, then garnish with the freshly grated nutmeg.

13. Lychee Tom Collins

You'll need:

5 lychees, peeled and pitted

1 ½ oz gin

1 oz freshly squeezed lemon

½ oz simple syrup

2 oz Perrier® Sparkling Natural Mineral Water

Steps:

Puree lychees in food processor. Mix the pureed lychee, gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in tall glass with ice. Top with Perrier® Sparkling Natural Mineral Water and serve.

14. Spicy Sidecar

You'll need:

1 oz cognac

¾ oz triple sec

¾ oz lemon juice

1 splash jalapeño simple syrup*

1 slice jalapeño, for garnish

Steps:

Pour all ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into cocktail glass. Jalapeño garnish optional.

*Create jalapeño simple syrup by boiling ½ cup water and ½ cup sugar then steeping one jalapeño in mixture for 2 hours.

15. Cider Kir Royale

You'll need:

⅓ oz crème de cassis

3 oz hard cider

1 apple slice, for garnish

Steps:

Add crème de cassis to bottom of champagne flute then add cider and garnish with apple slice.

16. Cranberry Pear Wild Thing

You'll need:

4 or 5 fresh cranberries

2 or 3 slices pear

1 ½ oz tequila

½ oz lime juice

Steps:

Muddle cranberries and pear slices together in shaker. Add tequila and lime juice and shake well. Strain into old-fashioned glass over ice and garnish with slice of pear.

17. Orange Blossom Old-fashioned

You'll need:

1 sugar cube

2 dashes Angostura bitters

2 splashes orange blossom water

1 splash Perrier® L'Orange Sparkling Natural Mineral Water

1 ½ oz bourbon or rye whiskey

1 cocktail cherry, for garnish

Steps:

Muddle sugar cube, bitters, orange blossom water, and Perrier® L'Orange Sparkling Natural Mineral Water in old-fashioned glass until completely dissolved. Fill glass with ice cubes, add whiskey, and garnish with cocktail cherry.
