2. HR Giger Museum Bar: Gruyères, Switzerland
What better place to change your perspective on what a bar looks like than the HR Giger Bar in Gruyères, Switzerland? This intricate, fossilized vertebrae–looking bar (and museum) is, put simply, pure art.

Xitlita is a gorgeous town in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Its beauty was such that it inspired English artist Edward James to come up with "Las Pozas" ("The Pools"), which are marvelously surrealistic concrete sculptures stretching over a vast jungle.

The name pretty much says it all. These enchanting "tree houses for adults" are suspended in a coastal rainforest near Qualicum Beach, Canada. The spheres are completely handmade and will certainly make you feel as if you're being gently cradled in a terrestrial submarine somewhere close to the stars.

It's not every day that you can walk in through a secret door and end up in a bar adorned with a ton of brass skulls. But cooler even, you *could * lie on the floor and just stare at the ceiling of Noble Experiment, which is decorated with a collage of Renaissance paintings. (Like, you could, but you shouldn't.) Just go have a drink there.

This amazing hotel, reminiscent of Van Gogh paintings (or perhaps the palace of a sorceress), allows you to immerse yourself in pure, surrealist magic. Situated near Durbuy in Belgium, the hotel has 10 rooms, and every single one is crazy enough to transport you to an alternate universe filled with elements that are the complete opposite of "normal".
