This New Instagram Feature Will Change The Game For Travel

    Instagram 7.0 launches today and it has one huge update:

    You can finally search for photos by location, not just via hashtag.

    So you can check out a town before you visit or see what the food looks like at a restaurant before making a reservation.

    The "Explore" page has also been redesigned for U.S. users.

    In Instagram 7.0, you'll see a new hub for "trending hashtags."

    This section is similar to Facebook and Twitter's trending modules.

    You'll see "trending places," too.

    Instagram will show you top locations based on how many people are tagging it and its proximity to you. Users from New York and San Francisco won't see the same trending places.

    Instagram will also curate collections of photo-worthy locales.

    "Glimmering Islands," "Towering Rocks," and "Ancient Ruins" are just a few of the first collections curated by an editorial team and presented exclusively on the Instagram app. In these collections, you'll see a few of the chosen locations, plus the top images taken in that place.
