"People Loving People" Is The Garth Brooks Single You've Been Waiting For

It's the first single from his forthcoming album, to be released "hopefully somewhere around Black Friday.”

On Sept. 3, Garth Brooks released a new single to country radio, called "People Loving People."

It's an unabashedly heavy-handed singalong with an easy-to-embrace message: People should love people.

People Loving People! Garth's still got it

Does #GarthBrooks' People Loving People remind you of @martinamcbride's Love's the Only House? Or is that just me?

And one writer thinks it's "condescending":

I find the "It's just people loving people!" chorus condescending. That's not a new philosophy, and it's also not taken root in all history.

Brooks is no stranger to message music. Way back in 1993 — that's 18 years before Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" — he was singing about gay rights, on "We Shall Be Free":
