1. La Marquise

Originally built in 1887, the La Marquise is powered by steam and can still reach top speeds of 38 miles per hour. There’s food for thought the next time your car breaks down at a measly ten or so years.

2. The Centennial Light Bulb

The Centennial Light is the world’s longest-lasting light bulb, having run continuously for more than 110 years and only turned off a couple of times. It is housed in the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department in Livermore, California. Take that LEDs!

3. Hanako the Koi fish

Most Koi fish have a maximum life expectancy of 47 years, but someone forgot to tell Hanako that. This spritely scarlet koi lived to a ripe old age of 226 before blubbing her last bubble in 1977.
