Why Mermaid Girl Was Awesome

It's been a few days, and I'm finally ready to talk about this. Mermaid Girl was a personal hero of mine. She was so brave, funny, and inspiring. Mermaid Girl was in one word: awesome.

• She was wise beyond her years

  My favorite Shiloh-ism: "Some people are short, some people are tall, some people have two legs and I don't."

• She didn't have a vagina/rectum

  

  How many people can say that?

• She was a bitch to Oprah

  Shiloh never let "the fame" get to her.

• Her smile lit up the room

  Yeah, girl! Preach.

• Her TLC Specials Were The BEST

  If you haven't seen both Mermaid Girl specials, GET ON IT.

• She didn't let her disability get her down
