Things Left At The Vietnam Memorial Through The Years

Left at the memorial sometime in the 1980s, the note says: "Hey Bro!, / Here's the beer I owe you - 24yrs late. You were right - I did make it back to the world. Great seeing you again. Sorry not to be with you but I"ll be along soon. / Thanx / Sarge"
Since the early years of the Memorial, the mother of Billy Stocks, who was killed in action in Vietnam, has left letters and Christmas objects at the Wall. This object was left at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during the time period from 1986 to 1987. The mother who left this at the Wall in memory of her son, used to send him an artificial Christmas tree while he served in Vietnam.
"What would have been your 40th birthday. Your family misses you."
According to "donor" information, it was left by the sole surviving member of a 12-man recon team, ambushed in November, 1967.
Left in Remembrance for a friend, dated April 1989 "Dear Eddie - In memory of the great football game of August 1907..."
