The Creators Of South Park Dropped Acid At The Oscars
Trey Parker & Matt Stone admitted to being under the influence of acid when they wore dresses to the Oscars in 2000. Here’s what they had to say about their experience to Jimmy Kimmel. It all makes sense now.
“We thought of it the week before. We had tuxes as a backup because we thought we were gonna chicken out. And we did. And we were like let’s not do that. Let’s not do that. But then we were like, “let’s take a little bit of acid.” So we did that and of course an hour later we were like, “WE GOTTA WEAR THE DRESSES.”
“The thing is we didn’t take a lot of acid. So we were coming down on the acid in the audience and were like “no fun.” No fun. Oh God please don’t let us win. Please don’t let us win.”

Some of you kids may not be old enough to remember…but those weren’t just any old dresses they wore. They were actually replicas of two outfits that had each recently received an inordinate amount of attention in the media. One was the Audrey Hepburn-esque, ballerina-pink princess gown that Gwyneth Paltrow had worn when she won the best actress oscar for SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE the previous year. And the other, of course, was that sheer-green-marvel-of-engineering Jennifer Lopez had worn to the grammys.
