These people do need to go away, I agree. But personally, I find the ignoring tactic only works with morons that an entire audience is willing to ignore. I’m working on a plan to mind-control the internet, so I’ll let you know when I’ve got that finished. I do think it’s great that you guys are being principled about this. I’ve always had mixed feelings about how to respond to the Westboro Church propaganda. Do I ignore it because trolls deserve to be ignored, or do I join the chorus of those actively condemning them? I’ve come to the conclusion that the Westboro stuff is going to circulate whether I like it or not. If this is going to make a trip around the net, I’d like it to go with mockery attached.  Anyway, I just wanted to point out that there are other ways of thinking about this. And maybe we should tone down the hostility toward Matt. :)

For the love of all that is good and right, please stop giving the attention these people what they want. They love being the butt of the joke on the internet as it allows them to disseminate their hurtful and hateful messages. The joke isn’t funny anymore.
