While she obviously tried to play her comment off as a joke with the cringe-inducing fake laughter and the “shoot him…” bit, her initial indignation seems very, very real. She is so thrown off by the coughing that she breaks from her cliche monologue about how “magical” it was to recycle the same old S&M shitshow theme with her utterly exhausted octave jumping tricks to create her latest album. She wasn’t being humorous, she was being the quintessential egotistical pop culture celebrity. Maybe Chrisitina should be less concerened with connecting to us “musically in [our] world,” and try a little harder to see beyond her own ego and reconnect with the real world.

Wow, people actually think that she was being serious? …that she seriously asked someone to shoot the person that coughed? Wow…folks are really slow if they can’t catch the sarcasm.

You’d never see this from Gaga, Ke$ha and Winehouse. They do all of their own coughing. Or is that what they call singing?

She was kidding, for God’s sake.  I had to do an interview in a crowded room recently with my brother snapping pictures of me and my niece tugging on my leg - I kept trailing off and repeating myself; it was embarrassing. It’s not easy to concentrate and construct good sentences when there are distractions, especially when you’re describing things that (a) are creative and therefore are difficult to put into words, and (b) are referencing work you probably completed a year ago. It’s a 30 second clip - give the woman a break.

I’m so hardcore, I’m not even going to click on this to watch it. Oh HOOO! Step back!
