Technology in the classroom and in other areas of education is becoming increasingly important but what we now know as edtech is not something new at all! Education technology dates back to 6,000 years ago when Egyptians used hieroglyphics as an education system to teach phrases, laws and rules in order to keep them permanently by transmitting them from generation to generation. This infographic is a journey through time. It visualises the most important landmarks in learning and helps us understand how education technology has evolved during the course of human history. The visualisation also opens the horizon to start thinking about how will new innovative technologies be applied in the future of education.
