13 Things You Should Know About Lovell, The 10W Freeway Ramp Guy

There are many familiar or recurring nameless faces we see in Los Angeles. For the last 3 years this man has been at the entrance of the 10 West FWY and after reading his signs and being inspired, I decided to stop and get to know him. Below are some things you might not know about this man.

1. He is not homeless

While he may be financially challenged, he does have a place to put his head at night. He has friends and places to go.

2. His name is Lovell. L-O-V-E.

He moved here 12 years ago from North Carolina. He was raised by a single mom and had 7 brothers and no sisters. He was shy and loved to read. He learned about himself as he researched why he was shy. He expanded his mind with every word he read.

3. He came to Hollywood to be an Entertainer

He tried the comedy clubs and dance clubs but to no avail.

4. He loves to create art

His art installation is the horse and cart in modern times. He wanted to show how much we have advanced and still need to advance. Yet at times we are chained to the ground. The pictures don't do it justice.

5. He doesn’t ask for money

He takes on handyman and contractor jobs but comes back to the freeway/highway entrance to perform and spread his message. To be creative. To perform.

6. He was and still is a contractor who can build a house from the ground up

He can do electrical, plumbing, drywall and much more. He is currently tinkering with solar power for his fan on his art installation.

7. He loves Michael Jackson

Since he was a child he wanted to dance and be like Michael.

8. He has so many quotes it warrants it’s own post.

9. He hopes to create the future in transportation someday

If he had money to support his ideas he would work on creating a new kind of car that would revolutionize the industry. He wants to promote advanced technology.

10. He has lots of positive messages to share with the world.
