Our Lives As They Really Are
Eight courageous students from the school with the lowest test scores in Kentucky discuss writing an autobiographical book (with the help of a National Book Award winner and a local nonprofit) that U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has called "an inspiring story of perseverance." These powerful voices challenge assumptions about low-income youth and the neighborhoods in which they live.
