John Oliver found out about the Senate expenses audit and he's not too impressed with what passes for a "scandal" in this country.

Like for example how some of the disputed expenses involved fishing trips and hockey games. Or how an audit that found less than $1 million in inappropriate claims cost $23.6 million.

"Wow, hockey and fishing trips. This scandal could not be anymore Canadian if public money was used get Drake to drink maple syrup on Niagara Falls."

But then he found out about how Sen. Terry Mercer expensed travel costs to the 100th anniversary of his curling club.

"A man named Terry going to a curling club anniversary. Kudos, Canada. You made this scandal more Canadian after I explicitly said that could not be done."
