Last weekend, Brooklyn cartoonist Nick Sumida read a comic strip to a live audience. The subject was "voicemails from mom."
"Hey Nicky I'm in the garage. I just found a box of old drawings of yours?"
"Y-you've always been so talented."
"These are photo-realistic drawings."
"It's just- you're a storyteller! A storyteller. And I'm — you know — so proud of you."
