News of a potential pup in the Vick household broke earlier this week, when sports bloggers noticed a box of Milk-Bone treats in the corner of a photo Vick tweeted of him and his daughter. The photo was quickly deleted.
But on Thursday, Vick confirmed the news in a statement to TMZ:

tooks 8 months agoI love it. People defending a sociopath. Realize studies show that people that abuse animals will eventually abuse and/or kill humans. It makes me physically ill to realize how many people are able to forgive and forget. And yes, there are other players that have abused women. Have they been forgiven? “Oh we’ll, he beats women, but he served his time, so he’s a good person now.”. Yeah, right.

kathrynp 8 months agoI’d just like to say that the phrase “the miracle of orca ownership” is fabulous. Back on topic, he should not be allowed to keep ANY animal…. ever. When his kids nag for a puppy, he should have to tell them they can’t have one because daddy is a cruel, heartless asshole.

Klo732 8 months agoAs someone who very much cares for animals and their rights and welfare I have to not only disagree but point out how insulting this is to hear. This could be my very own father (who is a white man, if that helps) and I would still feel the anger and disgust over the whole situation.

TheSwedish 8 months agoYou should probably check out his drug busts then. No matter what anyone thinks about the illegality or legality of weed, Mr. Vick made that mistake over and over. I think he’s perfectly capable of making a mistake more than once. He’ll keep feeling above the law as long as folks keep boosting him up there.

We’re not talking about him gambling over sports or extorting money or something. We’re talking about living beings. Many of us don’t find it that easy to relax over this issue. I agree that, I doubt this dog will feel abuse. But I don’t believe it will truly be loved. At least not by him. It will just exist in his life. I hope his children will actually be there to provide it with the love and companionship it deserves.

meghannd 8 months agoHis kids shouldn’t be punished because of what he did. Part of his rehabilitation really does need to be him owning a dog again. I think the ASPCA should do regular visits like cps would for kids. I’m actually a vet tech and pit bull owner. I know most people like me continue to hate him and have zero forgivenessz. We should be more like our pit bulls who move forward and have forgiveness in their heart.

BlueSerenade 8 months agoI don’t like Vick, I never have and I’m over the whole dogfighting thing, but I still don’t think this guy should be around dogs. It’s like handing the bottle to a guy who had a DUI. That said, considering the huge backlash he faced, I don’t think he’d have anymore acts of animal cruelty, it should’ve just been a part of his sentencing from the start.
