Justin Timberlake: NBA Owner?

The former boy band star is looking to follow in Jay-Z's footsteps.

Justin Timberlake looks to be joining the likes of Jay-Z (Brooklyn Nets), Will Smith (Philadelphia 76ers), and Usher (Cleveland Cavaliers, though he is no longer a part owner) as reports have him ready to join an ownership group that is looking to buy the Memphis Grizzlies. After years of irrelevance, all it took was two solid seasons for the Grizz to officially become cool enough to warrant a celeb owner. Personally, I thought they were cool enough the day Marc Gasol's beard showed up in Memphis, but that's just me.

No word how Involved Timberlake will be, as he is just expected to buy a minority stake, but I would love it if he became an outspoken, highly visible part-owner along the lines of a Jay-Z. Which means Memphis' arena music is about to get all FutureSex/LoveSounds on everyone, and Nets/Grizz games could end up being must (people) watch TV. Regardless, this purchase, just goes to show that a million dollars isn't cool. You know what's cool? A minority stake in an NBA franchise.
