This photo was taken last night in the Philippines where Dennis Rodman was playing an exhibition game. Philander Rodman Jr, a Vietnam Vet who left Dennis and his mother in the ’60s and ran away to the other side of the world, wore a hat that read “”Yes, Dennis Rodman is my son.” During a break towards the end of the game, Dennis got on a microphone and revealed that his father was in the stands and that the game marked the first time they had been in the same room in nearly half a century.
Philander Rodman was moved. “He accepted me as his father. That’s the first time he ever called me his father.”
And it was in that a guy named Philander, who has fathered 29 children by four wives, all while being the owner-operator of Rodman’s Rainbow Obamaburger (seriously, that’s the name of his restaurant) made me get all emotional and teary-eyed at my job. So now I have to live with that.
