A Photo Of Two Dogs Hugging Saved Them From A Certain Death

    Hugs are all you need.

Angels Among Us is a nonprofit pet rescue organization in the Atlanta metro area. They specialize in taking animals from high-kill shelters in north Georgia and trying to find them foster and permanent homes.

On Monday, they shared a photo on Facebook of two shelter dogs named Kala and Keira hugging. The photo included a plea for help.

"The people working in the shelters see how scared we are but just told each other that today is our deadline," the post, written from the dogs' perspective, said. "We have to have someone rescue us or we'll be 'next.'"

The post quickly got a lot of attention, garnering over 16,000 likes and 9,000 shares to date.

The attention worked. Both dogs got adopted just over two hours after the Facebook post, and the rescue house uploaded a new photo of them with their proud new owner.

    The post read in part:

THEY ARE SAFE!!! There are no words to tell you how happy we are that these two best friends are safe and together! Thank you for your shares, donations and offers! Just look at these two!!! This is why we rescue.

    All you need are hugs!
