The beloved '80s cartoon Jem and the Holograms is getting a modern-day update thanks to director Jon M. Chu, and on Thursday, Universal released the first-look photo from the movie.
Starring Aubrey Peeples as Jem, Stefanie Scott as Kimber, Hayley Kiyoko as Aja, Aurora Perrineau as Shana, and Ryan Guzman as Rio, the movie will chronicle the band's rise from internet obsession to full-fledged international stardom.
Judging from the first look photo, the film is aesthetically on point, but the question remains: Will Jem's guardian angel, Synergy, be a part of the remake?
