21 Rules To Living In New York In The 21st Century

New Yorkers live by a set of unwritten rules that allow all 8 million of them to not kill each other. These social norms are constantly changing as the city reinvents itself. Along with introducing New Yorkers to the reinvented PC this May 16-19 at the Experience Intel roadshow in Gansevoort plaza, Intel compiled the reinvented rulebook to living in NYC in the 21st Century.

1. Look up when you're walking!

2. Don't ask a New Yorker if they "have a minute for..." anything before or after work.

3. Nope.

Yup.

4. DO NOT block the subway doors.

5. Cover your stinking mouth!

6. Use the trash cans, they're literally on every corner.

7. Don't forget your earphones and glasses if you don't want strangers to bother you on the train.

8. Show up to the movie theater an hour early if you want to sit with the people you came with.

9. Everyone at Whole Foods needs to chill out.

10. Be nice to anyone you know with a car so that you can go to IKEA.

11. Have your Metro Card ready before you reach the turnstile.

12. Stay away from horse and buggy rides.

13. Don't be one of those people in line for the Starbucks bathroom.

14. Want to go to Times Square?

15. Not Acceptable.

Encouraged.

16. Be aware of people's personal space.

17. If you have business to take care of at the post office... clear your schedule for the day.

18. No, no one is making conversation with you on the street.

19. This is not how you pick people up anymore.

This is.

20. Squirrels rule the parks, you are just a visitor and you best keep outta their way.

21. Only the bold get cabs on the weekend.

Inspired by the greatest city in the world, the first stop on the Experience Intel roadshow.
