About Promoting peace in Iraq since 1998 through lifesaving advocacy and youth empowerment. Mission More than half of Iraq’s population is under the age of 25. This young demographic is the future of Iraq. They are the country’s future leaders, human rights defenders, journalists, and activists. EPIC seeks to to empower Iraq’s youth to promote peace and positive social change by developing safe space for learning and growth. Through Outdoor Education, Storytelling and the Arts, and Advocacy, we hope to help lay the foundations for a peaceful and prosperous Iraq. Company Overview Since 1998, the Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC) has worked to improve human rights and humanitarian conditions in Iraq. Today, EPIC is promoting peace in Iraq through projects that reach young people in Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan, through strategic partnerships with Iraqi civil society and key allies in the public and private sectors, and through Washington DC-based advocacy. EPIC supports, designs, and implements youth and peacebuilding initiatives that offer young Iraqis unique opportunities to learn new skills, gain knowledge, develop their leadership and teamwork abilities, share stories and form friendships with peers from different backgrounds and areas of Iraq, and contribute to a more peaceful, interconnected, and prosperous Iraq. EPIC also works through media engagement, public outreach, and advocacy to support organizations and community-based initiatives in Iraq that are bringing desperately needed hope and development to tens of millions of people affected by war.
