Scientists came across this slumbering pod of sperm whales off the coast of the Azores. It is still up for debate as to why this particular species of whale opts to sleep in a vertical position.

Why is this ridiculous? The buoyancy of the water pretty much makes “directions” irrelevant, so why not sleep “vertically”?
