I was hoping someone posted this <3
Kate McKinnon should definitely be on this list.
No one compares to Björk. Also, she totally was in a rockband. The Sugarcubes. Iceland knows what they’re doing ;).
There was a time where Booster Gold was a walking billboard :)
The saddest part is that the blood people are using for some stupid fad facial that probably won’t do anything, could actually be donated to save lives instead :(
Pfff. President Roslin? I rather channel my inner Starbuck ;)
Ron Swanson :P
How is Nethack not on here?
I don’t think time forgot most of these. A good deal of these were even re-released on modern systems (Chronotrigger for the DS, Sonic on the Sega collections for the 360, Street Fighter II on 360’s arcade….Also, if you’ve ever set foot in a convention, FFVII is alive and well. Nobody has forgotten that game. What did I expect from an article sponsored by ‘King of the Nerds’ though :P
This
Growing up, Nerd/Geek was a stinging insult… especially as a girl. I’m kind of confused as to why the label means so much. Just like what you like. Read what you read, play what you play, watch what you watch and give zero effs. I think that if it needs to be paraded around, then yeah, it’s an attention grab. I will talk to dudes at the local comic shop and they are always cool with me… because I’m just talking about the comic, not shoving the fact that I’m a female and I’m there down their throat. The reason the meme is funny is because it’s true, and it’s kind of a sucky double standard for guys. It’s rare you see guys in sexed up costumes strutting the con (and there ARE sexy guy costumes. I get the argument that the girls are drawn that way, but the men’s leotards are just as tight.), posting pictures with their tongues on dual shock controllers and posing half naked to show off their Zelda tattoos. You see, if a male brags about his epic MMO loot, successful AD&D campaign or encyclopedic knowledge about both incarnations of battlestar galactica, it’s considered a turn off for most ladies. When a female shows even a slight interest in some sort of fandom, it makes her even more desirable. A few women actually do use this to their advantage (even legit ‘nerds’), and love the attention. I can’t say I don’t share some of the same observations as Tony Harris (observations, not opinions)when perusing cons. In short… I blame The Big Bang Theory. Also, side note, everyone loves Star Wars. My parents loved it in the 70’s, little kids love it now. I really don’t think this makes anyone a nerd.
Sorry. You’re right. That comment just made me so angry that I kind of keyboard vomited. IS there any way to delete your own comments?
“The uncanny valley is a hypothesis in the field of robotics[1] and 3D computer animation,[2][3] which holds that when human replicas look and act almost, but not perfectly, like actual human beings, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers. The “valley” in question is a dip in a proposed graph of the positivity of human reaction as a function of a robot’s human likeness.” That’s exactly how I felt watching. What do you mean by that?
uncanny valley O_o
Just glue some gears on it…
Is it sad that I kind of want this issue for the 20Q w/Nick Offerman?
My husband and I have decided not to have children. Does that invalidate our marriage? Legally, no. This is why I think your argument is ridiculous. Also, provide hard evidence that a child “needs” a mother and a father. Does that also mean that single or widowed mothers and fathers don’t have the right to keep their kids using your twisted ideals? The truth is, people aren’t being treated equally and it isn’t right. All the arguments people throw forward don’t work because heterosexual couples can get married despite people’s fears. Me and my husband are atheists and choose not to have children. The church would say that we have no right to be married, but we are. That’s my point. It’s just discrimination. I know this won’t sway you at all, but it made me feel better to vent after reading your baseless arguments.
2250g of carbs? How did you get that number?
I think 55 is supposed to be Guy Gardener, one of the Green Lanterns.
She looks like Chris Kattan, amiright?
