In this previously unaired clip, David Foster Wallace reflects on the dangers of perfectionism, his early tennis career, and his tendency to be a grammar Nazi.

The interview was originally recorded in 1996, for WNYC’s The Leonard Lopate Show, when Wallace came on to discuss his now classic postmodern novel Infinite Jest.
