1. Jalapeño Mojito
What a great way to make sure you're getting all of your greens, right?! This spicy variation of the original Mojito will really test your cojones. Just mix:
1.5 oz Bacardi Rum
Mint
Jalapeño
Soda
Lime
In a mixing glass, add the 8-12 mint leaves, 2 lime wedges, 3-4 slices of jalapeños, ice and muddle just enough to release the mint oil. Add the rum, the ice, then top with soda. Garnish and enjoy!
2. The Earthy Cuba Libre
What makes this classic highball "earthy" is the inclusion of Amaro—an Italian herbal liqueur—and lots of fresh lime juice. Here's all you need:
1 1/2 oz Bacardi Rum
1/4 oz Amaro
1/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1/2 oz Cola
Club Soda / Soda Water to Top
Add ice to a highball glass, pour remaining ingredients and enjoy!
3. Blood Orange Daiquiri
Holding one of these bad boys will make you feel like a warrior. And yes, Blood Orange Daiquiris taste as vicious as they look. Shake together:
1 1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed Blood Orange Juice
2 oz Bacardi Rum
1/2 oz Lime Juice
1/2 oz Cinnamon Simple Syrup
Garnish: Blood Orange Slice or Twist
Put the blood orange juice, rum, lime, and cinnamon simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake well for 10 seconds. Strain and pour over ice.
4. Bacon Bloody Mary
As if Bloody Marys weren't delicious enough, make yours even better with BACON:
1 1/2 oz Bacon Flavored Vodka
4 oz Tomato Juice
1 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 to 2 Dashes of Hot Sauce
Juice of Half a Lemon
1/2 Tsp Dried Ground Horseradish
1 Slice of Cooked Bacon
1 Celery Stalk
A Sprinkle of Seasoned Salt and Fresh Ground Black Bepper
Various Pickled Vegetables, If Desired
Fill a shaker with ice and remaining ingredients. Shake, pour and add bacon and vegetables.
5. Spice Island Iced Tea
Like a Long Island Iced Tea, this is a spicier, zestier version of the original:
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Gin
1 oz Whiskey
1/2 oz Amaretto
1 oz Cointreau
1 1/4 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
1/2 oz Coca
1/4 oz St. Elizabeth's Allspice Dram
Pour ingredients over ice and stir gently before serving.
6. Late Spring Dark and Stormy
This drink adds an artisanal twist to the classic Dark And Stormy:
For the Rhubarb Syrup:
2 Cups Chopped Rhubarb
1 Cup Water
2 Tbsp Sugar
For the cocktail:
1 1/2 oz Dark Bacardi Rum
1 1/2 oz Rhubarb Syrup
2 oz Ginger Beer
1/2 Lime, Cut Into 2 Pieces
Fill a glass with ice, squeezing one piece of the lime into the glass. Add rum, 1 1/2 ounces rhubarb syrup, and ginger beer. Stir gently, garnish with remaining lime.
7. Ginger-Mint Julep With Pineapple
Add things like peppercorns and ginger to spice up your Mint Julep:
8 - 10 Mint Leaves
2 Heaping Tbsp Chopped Pineapple
2 Tbsp Ginger Syrup (Include Peppercorns)
2 oz (1/4 cup) Bourbon
3 Tbsp Pineapple Juice, Or More To Taste
Mint Springs and Pineapple Wedges, for Garnish
Muddle together the mint, pineapple, and ginger syrup at the bottom of a julep cup. Then fill the glass halfway with finely crushed ice. Pour the whiskey over the ice, next adding pineapple juice, followed by more ice. Garnish with pineapple and mint.
8. The Spicy Colorado Bulldog (Spicy White Russian)
A favorite amongst coffee drinkers and bowling enthusiasts, the White Russian can be amped up with this spicy, cinnamon twist:
1 Tbsp (1/2 oz) Torani brown sugar cinnamon syrup
2 Tbsp (1 oz) Vodka
1 Tbsp (1/2 oz) Coffee Liqueur
1/4 Cup (2 oz) Half & Half
Pour the coffee liqueur, vodka, and brown sugar cinnamon syrup in a glass. Place in the ice and top with half & half.
