8 Unexpected Twists On Your Favorite Mixed Drinks

Feeling a little stuck with your classic go-to drinks? Burst out of the ordinary with these bold recipes, courtesy of Bacardi.

1. Jalapeño Mojito

What a great way to make sure you're getting all of your greens, right?! This spicy variation of the original Mojito will really test your cojones. Just mix:

1.5 oz Bacardi Rum

Mint

Jalapeño

Soda

Lime

In a mixing glass, add the 8-12 mint leaves, 2 lime wedges, 3-4 slices of jalapeños, ice and muddle just enough to release the mint oil. Add the rum, the ice, then top with soda. Garnish and enjoy!

2. The Earthy Cuba Libre

What makes this classic highball "earthy" is the inclusion of Amaro—an Italian herbal liqueur—and lots of fresh lime juice. Here's all you need:

1 1/2 oz Bacardi Rum

1/4 oz Amaro

1/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1/2 oz Cola

Club Soda / Soda Water to Top

Add ice to a highball glass, pour remaining ingredients and enjoy!

3. Blood Orange Daiquiri

Holding one of these bad boys will make you feel like a warrior. And yes, Blood Orange Daiquiris taste as vicious as they look. Shake together:

1 1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed Blood Orange Juice

2 oz Bacardi Rum

1/2 oz Lime Juice

1/2 oz Cinnamon Simple Syrup

Garnish: Blood Orange Slice or Twist

Put the blood orange juice, rum, lime, and cinnamon simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake well for 10 seconds. Strain and pour over ice.

4. Bacon Bloody Mary

As if Bloody Marys weren't delicious enough, make yours even better with BACON:

1 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce

1 to 2 Dashes of Hot Sauce

Juice of Half a Lemon

1/2 Tsp Dried Ground Horseradish

A Sprinkle of Seasoned Salt and Fresh Ground Black Bepper

Various Pickled Vegetables, If Desired

Fill a shaker with ice and remaining ingredients. Shake, pour and add bacon and vegetables.

1 oz Whiskey

1/2 oz Amaretto

1 oz Cointreau

1 1/4 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

1/2 oz Simple Syrup

1/2 oz Coca

2 Tbsp Sugar

For the cocktail:

1 1/2 oz Dark Bacardi Rum

1 1/2 oz Rhubarb Syrup

2 oz Ginger Beer

1/2 Lime, Cut Into 2 Pieces

Fill a glass with ice, squeezing one piece of the lime into the glass. Add rum, 1 1/2 ounces rhubarb syrup, and ginger beer. Stir gently, garnish with remaining lime.

7. Ginger-Mint Julep With Pineapple

Add things like peppercorns and ginger to spice up your Mint Julep:

3 Tbsp Pineapple Juice, Or More To Taste

Mint Springs and Pineapple Wedges, for Garnish
