Hello, beautiful.
This is Lady Margarita. Though she didn't make her appearance in the world until the early 1970s, her reign has been STRONG ever since. In the earliest days, she was considered a twist on the sidecar, with tequila standing in for brandy, lime juice for lemon, and a salt rim instead of sugar. But she came into her own. These days the standard version includes orange liqueur:
2 ounces silver tequila
1 ounce Cointreau (better than triple sec, trust)
1 ounce lime juice
(Shake with ice. Strain. Serve in a glass — with or without ice — with a salted rim.)
Never one to be pigeonholed, she has branched out. Sometimes the results are good. Sometimes they are not. In the name of invention, they're always worth a try.
