I Just Learned That Adult Simba's Singing Voice In "The Lion King" Is The Lead Singer From Toto

Simba really DID bless the rains down in Africa.

Hi, hello, how're you today? Good, great. So, all you need to know about me is that I'm obsessed with The Lion King, and have been my whole life. So, as you can imagine, any new information regarding one of my favorite films of all time would absolutely SHAKE ME TO MY CORE, mostly because I ~pride~ myself in my knowledge.

But, while scrolling through Tumblr today, I was surprised with some...news...when I saw this post from user an-actual-lion.

    UM, EXCUSE ME?!

So, naturally, I was like, "This requires my immediate attention and I will not continue my job until I find out more about this right this minute."

And, upon doing some extensive research (and by "extensive" I mean some light googling), it's true! Williams provided the singing voice for Matthew Broderick on both "Hakuna Matata" and "Can You Feel The Love Tonight."

Seriously, take another listen to this classic ballad, and you can definitely feel the ~'80s rock star~ vibes (along with, you know, the love tonight).

Heck, his name is even the first listed on the iTunes line-up of the artists on those songs!

Now, an important discrepancy here is that Williams fronted the band from 1986 to 1988, and again from 2010 to the present; however "Africa" was released in 1982, before he joined Toto.

In short, it's incredibly ironic that the singing voice of adult Simba was LITERALLY involved with those who've blessed the rains down in Africa.

So yeah, cool, thanks for reading. Here's some actual footage of me being told I have to go back to work now after finding this out:
