The Green Party Wants To Put The Queen In A Council House

“I can’t see that the Queen is ever going to be really poor, but I’m sure [if the monarchy was abolished] we can find a council house for her," the Green Party leader said.

The leader of the Green party wants to abolish the Monarchy and would put the Queen in a council house if she ran out of money.

In Green Party-led government, the Royal Family would be kicked out of Buckingham Palace and Natalie Bennett said: "I can't see that the Queen is ever going to be really poor, but I'm sure we can find a council house for her — we're going to build lots more."

Natalie Bennett made the remarks in a interview with The Times, where Bennett was questioned about a number of the party's policies, including proposed reforms to education, the NHS and tax.

The last few months have seen a so-called 'Green surge', with new members joining so rapidly that the party has now become the fourth biggest party in the UK in terms of membership.

The party has overtaken the Liberal Democrats and UKIP, leaving it behind Labour, the Conservatives and the SNP. 13,000 people have joined in the last week alone.

Bennett launched a new poster on Monday, accusing the main parties of being too scared to let the party take part in the television debates.

Broadcasters have since proposed revised guidelines, which would see the Green party involved in two of the televised debates.

The new proposals would see Bennett share the platform with six other party leaders, including those from the Tories, Labour, the SNP, the Lib Dems, UKIP, and Plaid Cymru.

Bennett has always been confident that the party could break through. In October, she told BuzzFeed News: "We can break British politics wide open in this election."

Bennett thinks the party is taking votes from all the parties. "People are really hungry for something different," she told The Times. "There is an element of us being fresh and new, but we are also talking about ideas, optimism and changing things.

"We need to restructure society with the rich paying their way and multinationals paying taxes. People sometimes say to me, 'I saw you and I stopped shouting at the TV and throwing things at it. I finally agree with a politician'."

A lot of people are pretty happy with Bennett's proposal to put the Queen in a council house.

I so very desperately want to see the queen put up in a council house, working out how to make her own boiled eggs, crying into cheap gin.

Definitely voting #Greens @natalieben She'd put the queen in a council house. Excellent. No looking back. :))

Although there are undoubtedly some critics, including from within the party's membership.

I'm a supporter of the green party but I don't like the idea of moving the queen into a council house

The green party are a bunch of clueless idiots - putting The Queen into a council house ?!?!
