Note: this may not be entirely accurate.

This morning Twitter went a little nuts after polling company YouGov released YouGov Profiles, a free tool that allows anyone to get more information on the types of people who like celebrities, politicians and brands.

When looking up some of our favourite people and companies, we found the following surprising facts. Here are some of them. (Note: this is just for fun. The sample sizes are small, and consequently the data cannot be trusted).

    1. The typical Taylor Swift fan is a slightly right-wing Scottish engineer.

    2. And he also sympathises with UKIP supporters.

    3. For some reason, Taylor Swift fans really like visiting the Bristol University website.

    4. One Direction fans are also slightly right-wing and they're big fans of DIY.

    5. Belle & Sebastian fans are typically male, Scottish civil servants.

    6. Newsround viewers are 50 year-old lawyers.

    7. But they also read the Financial Times.

    8. Labour Party supporters are more left-wing than people who support the Greens.

    9. Fans of the Conservative Party are more right-wing than UKIP voters.

    10. Which might help to explain why Boris Johnson's supporters understand why people might vote for UKIP.

    11. You know who likes the taxi-hailing app Uber? Fans of UKIP leader Nigel Farage.

    12. And Farage's supporters also "like" Britain First on Facebook.
