These just make me sad. I wish the reporters would respect our privacy or at least give us some respect. This morning when I drove to school I was caught in traffic for 40 minutes (it normally takes me 8 minutes to get to school) and hounded by reporters for 10 of those minutes. They tapped on my car, yelled, and held their cameras and microphones right up to the window even as it was clear I wouldn’t open it. Kids that had to walk over from the commuter lot were completely swarmed. Upon discussing this with my classmates, it became clear that we had all been coping alright in general until we were harassed by the wall of reporters. We want privacy but if we can’t have that, some respect or space would be greatly appreciated.
That police officer is amazing. What a good man and hero to use his smile and uniform to make everyone feel just the right mix of safe and upbeat about returning to school.
That cheery policeman, I’m sure he’ll never see this, but THANK YOU!
