SNP MP Blasts Jeremy Corbyn For Drinking Irn Bru "With A Silly Grin"

Deirdre Brock criticised the Labour leader for trying Scotland's national soft drink "with a silly grin on his face".

An SNP MP has hit out at Jeremy Corbyn for these photographs of the Labour leader holding up a bottle of Irn Bru "with a silly grin on his face".

During Corbyn's first visit to Scotland as Labour leader in October, BuzzFeed News welcomed him to the country by offering a can of Irn Bru which he politely declined.

However, after some gentle persuasion from Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale, Corbyn supped from a bottle of Scotland's favourite soft drink.

He declared at the time that Irn Bru was "like nothing I've ever tasted" but, speaking on BBC Radio Five Live on Sunday morning, SNP MP Deirdre Brock criticised the Labour leader for the incident.

"I think Jeremy when he comes up on his occasional visits has been very poorly advised," said Brock. "I think taking a picture of Jeremy holding up a can of Irn Bru with a silly grin on his face for example is no way to win the Scottish public over."
