Cory Monteith Died From Drug Toxicity "Involving Heroin And Alcohol"

The results of the initial report on Monteith are back.

Though the full report investigating Cory Monteith's sudden death won't be delivered for a while, the Coroners Service of British Columbia has determined the cause of death: "Post-mortem testing, which included an autopsy and toxicological analysis, found that Mr. Monteith, aged 31, died of a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol."

The body of the Glee star was found on Saturday in a hotel in Vancouver. Monteith, by his own admission, had a history of drug and alcohol abuse. He had been in rehab as recently as this past spring.

    The autopsy was performed Monday.

The Coroners Service noted in its statement that Monteith's family was informed of his cause of death before the media. Its investigation into other circumstances around his death is ongoing.
