These two badasses from George Mason University invented a device that puts out fire with sound waves, even though some of their professors thought they'd totally fail.
But their device flawlessly worked. This is how they did it:
They found that it only works with low-frequency sounds, like the "thump-thump" bass in hip hop music.
But in an earlier study, students were able to extinguish a candle to the tune of Nickelback's "How you remind me."
