CameronHodge a year agoThe Civil Rights Act is most certainly on the list too, but since he’s trying to get elected as President he leaves his son to trumpet that one.

R. a year ago“I don’t understand how society or humans work, and I also think the gold standard is a good idea because Ron Paul says so, and also the Constitution isn’t a living document that’s changed based on various realities, and I like to act like I worship it like some do the Bible, and just ignore the parts I don’t like, like some do the Bible! Ron Paul 2012!”
Ron Paul is a kooky old man who would rid the government of all regulative powers, in effect transferring those powers to corporations. He also thinks oppression by the state if fine, because, after all… CONSTITUTION. Just not the federal government. He lives in a fantasyland, as do all libertarians. Your awful, Stormfront-backed candidate isn’t going to win, not now, not ever, so let it go. No, it’s not because he “challenges the status quo”, it’s because he’s a crazy old man with awful ideas that would destroy the economy and all progress this country has made. Why are people so quick to forget that state and local governments have always been much more corrupt than the federal government, I’ll never know… -

Abe a year agoAs someone who’s in favor of a single payer healthcare system and Social Security, practically everything that Ron Paul says in the above video is right. Most of those programs or departments are unconstitutional because they don’t even pass the smell test of the interstate commerce clause. Since the powers aren’t enumerated in the constitution, the 10th amendment clearly states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Thus, if the states individually created Social Security, Medicare, etc., that would be fine. But the federal government is not permitted.
