The video is shocking and the pictures are powerful. The man was a Legal Aid Society observer, but that didn’t stop the beating. This is not a good look for the NYPD.
The guy SO clearly pushed his feet under the bike as the cop tries to get past. Too bad it doesn’t clearly show whether the guy just laid down or was actually hit to the ground in the first place. Some of the police in NYC are doing very bad things. So, OWS people, why fake stuff like this? You muddle and dilute the power that images of real brutality would have for your movement. “Shame”, indeed.
according to nyc newspapers, witnesses said he was knocked down and THEN PLACED HIS FOOT UNDER THE BIKE, giving photographers a perfect shot of “police brutality”…i mean really, who the hell knows what happened, you dont even actually see him get hit(or not hit), to me, it does kinda look faked, if not, then it doesn’t look that serious
you want police brutality? go to puerto rico, where police corruption is considered a crisis…im a liberal, and support the protesters, but come on buzzfeed, your coverage of this whole thing is starting to look like propaganda
To me it looks like the cop started beating the crap out of the guy cause the guy was trying to make it seem like he got hit by a moto cop… maybe trying to make some quick money by suing the city… dunno… the dude looks like he’s faking it tho…
