Like most “Worst Of” lists, this may end up being a bit subjective - some people genuinely enjoy getting rickrolled, for instance. But let's work together to create a list of the absolute worst trends, memes, and viral videos that dominated the Web in 2008.
Try to think of something that the Web could probably have done without this year, and post it to the collection below. It'll be like giving the Internet an enema. Or something less gross than that sounds.

This is Ruby the Superhero singing “Call Me Ruby” from the movie “Daze of the Orb”, a wild and crazy musical about a giant orb that comes from space to enslave humanity.
Here's one that was really, really funny and then got really, really old. I'm F*cking Matt Damon was genius, and I'm F*cking Ben Affleck was pretty damn hilarious. But the endless parodies just got lamer and lamer. Why would you parody something that's already a parody?
Twitter graders. I love Twitter, and think it is the greatest thing to happen to the Internet ever. But these weird Twitter-ranking sites that keep popping up are starting to get on my nerves. Every time it happens, there's a day where everyone's tweeting this arbitrary number that's been assigned to them, and then we all act as if it never happened. It's like some kind of absurdist drama.
Nonsociety: I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to following the ups and downs of internet celebrity. But Julia Allison's web project bores me to the core.
This video captures it all - anything and everything Sarah Palin. All of her dumb interview clips. All those sentences to no where. All those lipstick jokes. All those 'Putin rearing his head' quips. Worst meme ever.
Not to be a party pooper - but I think I was over the whole bacon thing before it even started. I just don't get it. Maybe something to do with being vegetarian.
