Stephen Colbert interviewed Natalie Shea the "calcium sulfate junkie" and was able to draw correlations between her vandalism, the decline in Brooklyn property values and the sub-prime mortgage crisis. Apparently chalkitti is considered a gateway crime since it literally happened a couple steps from the gate to Shea's Park Slope brownstone.
