The city of San Francisco teamed up with more than 11,000 Make-A-Wish volunteers to make a 5-year-old's superhero dreams come true.
Miles, a 5-year-old whose leukemia is currently in remission, is spending all of Friday dressed as Batman fighting crimes in his own personal "Gotham City."
He even had a Batmobile.
Also, his little brother was Robin. Fair warning: This post is only going to get cuter. So I hope you're sitting down for this.
Robin spent the day hanging back with dad, though, leaving the crime fighting to his brother.
All day Miles, as Batman, responded to various calls for help. First, he was called to a busy street in downtown San Francisco.
Here's Batkid pulling up in his awesome ride.
The two Batmen were responding to a distress call from a woman who was TIED UP ON THE TRAIN TRACKS.
And who was behind the nefarious device? THE RIDDLER!
Batkid and Batman then followed some commotion...
Never worrying about his own safety, but only for the well-being of the citizens of Gotham, Batkid marched into that bank...
Faced off against his fearsome foe...
And successfully helped "Gotham" Police arrest him!
He even walks like a criminal.
Aw, the sad face of sweet, sweet justice.
After apprehending The Riddler, Batkid ate some lunch. It was a long morning.
While our hero ate his lunch and probably had a juice box, The Penguin began taunting him on Twitter!
The Penguin revealed himself after lunch, while the world collectively wondered: could Batkid defeat him?!
The city of Gotham waited in hushed anticipation.
Our hero surveyed the citizens he'd sworn to protect.
That's when The Penguin headed out to face off against our caped crusader.
The Penguin kidnapped Lou, the San Francisco Giants' mascot.
That scoundrel!
Luckily for Lou, Batkid chased after The Penguin without hesitation.
The Penguin had Lou tied up like SOME KIND OF ANIMAL at AT&T Field. Can you believe it?!
The city of Gotham cheered Batkid along.
Batkid had to clear an obstacle course though before he could save Lou.
Finally, Batkid arrived, just in time to save Lou.
Batkid freed Lou and, of course, gave him a big hug.
The city of Gotham could breathe easy. The Penguin had been officially foiled by our intrepid hero.
Following in Batkid's footsteps, The U.S. Attorney's office has announced they were charging The Riddler and The Penguin with kidnapping and conspiracy.
Lou was safe and The Riddler and The Penguin had both been charged by the Department Of Justice. Batkid made his way to Gotham's city hall where the mayor would be giving him a key to the city.
And of course, the whole city was waiting for him.
President Obama even recorded a special message for Miles!
Finally, Miles' epic day as The Dark Knight ended when he received the key to "Gotham" and announced to his fellow citizens: "I'm Batman!"
