Five people were shot early Sunday during a performance by controversial singer Chris Brown at a nightclub in San Jose, California, police have confirmed to BuzzFeed News.
The shooting occurred about 1:20 a.m. PT at the Fiesta nightclub, where Brown had been performing as part of a small concert.
Police told BuzzFeed News that four people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, while one other person later presented themself at hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
All victims were expected to survive, police told the the San Jose Mercury News.
Brown's bodyguards can be seen moving quickly to shield him.
This video shows fans being cleared out of the venue. "There's fucking blood everywhere," a woman says.
"Several people have been detained by officers as they conduct a follow up investigation," police said in a statement.
