Less than a month after adult actress Cameron Bay contracted HIV, a male porn star has now revealed that he tested positive for HIV, reported Radar Online.
The actor confirmed his diagnosis to AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a global HIV/AIDS organization that did not reveal any other details about the porn star's identity and his employers.
"I can confirm," the organization's president Michael Weinstein told Radar. "However, he has asked that all other information be kept strictly confidential at this time."
There was a weeklong voluntary halt in porn production across the nation after Bay tested positive.
The Free Speech coalition, an industry trade group which oversees the Adult Production Health and Safety Services, had said that production would resume when all of Bay’s sexual partners had been tested and cleared.
Last month, Rod Daily, an adult star who does gay porn, also announced he was HIV positive.
On his Twitter account, Rod Daily said he relied on getting tested regularly and not on using condoms.
Recently, a third, unidentified porn performer tested positive according to the Free Speech Coalition, which announced another moratorium on porn production.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation had spearheaded a successful voter initiative that makes condoms mandatory for porn shoots in most of L.A. County, reported LA Weekly. However, the industry resisted the rule, saying consumers won't buy condom porn.
Weinstein held L.A. County authorities responsible for the ongoing health crisis that could lead to an indefinite shutdown on the multibillion-dollar adult industry.
He said:
"It's like a slow-motion car wreck. The county took a stand against regulating this industry. They took a stand saying it's not that big of a problem. I think they should be held accountable for what has taken place."
